How to Test Port Forwarding on Windows

You’ll first need to access the ExtremeVPN member area and enable or disable the specified port.

• To access the ExtremeVPN members area, kindly click on the following link: 👉(here).

• Select the “Subscription” tab.

• Select Configure.

• Click Apply Settings after selecting the option you want.

To understand the options better, refer to the details below:

1. Enable All Ports: Selecting this option in settings opens all ports, enabling data transfer to any desired port.
2. Disable All Ports: Choosing this option in settings blocks all ports, preventing internet traffic through the VPN connection.
3. Enable specific Ports: Opting for this option in settings blocks ports but allows exceptions. You can choose to open specific ports according to your preference.

• Activate ExtremeVPN
• Log in to your ExtremeVPN account using your login information.

• If you have multiple subscriptions linked to one email, you can choose the account to log in to. (Choose the 0d account for your dedicated IP.)

• Open the ExtremeVPN App and click the location icon in the left panel.

• A list of locations will appear. Select your desired location to connect.

• Congratulations! You are now successfully connected.

• To test Port Forwarding Add On:
  1. Download the TCP listener from the provided link.
  2. Connect your VPN to a preferred location. If already connected, disconnect and reconnect for the port settings to take effect.
  3. Open the TCP listener app, enter the port number, and click the Listen Button.
  4. Visit a listening site to verify the status of the ports.

  Note:

  •  VPN is required to reconnect after applying the PF setting.
  • Use TCP listeners to check the status of PF ports.
  • Wait for a minute before checking the ports after establishing a connection to allow the server to apply the port settings.
